Working demos for UK construction firms Don't just look at it. Use it.

Most software demos are screens you can click but can't change. These run on a real pricing engine. Price a job, try to break the margin check, put it on a programme and watch the dashboard move.

All three follow one fictional business, Example Flooring Ltd, from the enquiry to the money coming in.

Where a job lives today

One enquiry, priced in a workbook only one person understands, chased from memory, invoiced from another spreadsheet. If any of this is familiar, the demos below are for you.

After

One job, typed once

Follow the surgery refurb from the estimator's inbox to the money coming in. Every step below works in the demos, on the same job.

  1. 1 Today, 07:42

    The enquiry lands

Surgery refurb, ground floor for Example Builders Ltd. It goes straight into Sam's inbox with the client's details, not into a folder.

    Open the inbox →
  2. 2 A minute later

    Priced from the rate library

Materials, labour and plant at your rates. The laying labour, prep, moisture tests and the skip are added for you, and the margin is checked before anything goes out.

    Price it yourself →
  3. 3 Days 1 to 3

    Sent, opened, chased

The quote goes out as a PDF and a link. You see when it's opened, and on day three a chaser is drafted, so nothing relies on memory.

    Send the sample quote →
  4. 4 Accepted

    A programme, from the quote

The priced lines become activities with dates, a critical path and stage payments. Nothing is typed in again.

    See the programme →
  5. 5 On site

    Margin against the estimate

Cost to date against what you priced, variations waiting to be invoiced, and the jobs that are slipping, on one screen.

    Open the dashboard →
  6. 6 Paid

    Invoices, retentions and CIS

Overdue invoices, retentions coming due and CIS deducted this tax year, without a separate spreadsheet for each.

What does quoting cost you now?

Put in your own figures. It adds up the hours and the money quoting takes over a year, so you can judge whether a tool is worth it before you talk to anyone.

The usual worries

Our pricing is too complicated for software.

That's usually why off-the-shelf tools don't fit. The rules in the demo (laying labour per finish, moisture tests on a ground-floor slab, a minimum margin) are the kind we build from how your estimator already prices. Yours would follow your rules, exceptions included.

We'd have to stop using Xero and our spreadsheets.

No. The tool sits alongside what you use and hands work on: an accepted quote can become an invoice in Xero, and existing rate sheets are imported rather than retyped.

I wouldn't know what to ask for.

You don't need a spec. The free prototype is built on one of your real jobs after a short call, so you react to something working instead of writing a document.

What if it doesn't do what we agreed?

If it doesn't do what we agreed in the spec within 30 days of go-live, we'll fix it or refund you. The build is a fixed price, from £3,000 + VAT, agreed before we start.

Who looks after it once it's built?

We do, on an optional care plan for hosting, fixes and new work. You own the software outright, with no per-user fees, so you're never locked in.

Three ways in. Pick whichever suits you.
